Mission Statement

The mission of Parkway Elementary School, in cooperation with students, family, and community, is to prepare children through quality education in a safe learning environment to become responsible and respectful citizens in a changing world. School Characteristics Parkway is a "B" school which means that the hours students attend school are 8:30 am - 3:00 pm.

We have full day Kindergarten classes.

Parkway Elementary is located in the Green Run area of Virginia Beach. The school opened in September of 1987 with an enrollment of 977 students in grades K-6. The building cost 3.47 million dollars and it has 67,567 square feet sitting on fifteen acres of land. The outside playground includes a basketball court, softball field, challenge course, and an enclosed kindergarten playground area.The building now houses grades K-5 with a current enrollment of 548 students. Parkway is a Title One school. The school consists of 32 classrooms with a total of 49 teachers. This includes Title One teachers, resource teachers, and specialists.
